The Auckland Project are excited to announce their first ever Summer Fest event, featuring a range of live music, theatre and outdoor cinema. On this night, we welcome A Night to Remember – Motown Show!
Take a trip back to Detroit’s heyday in the 60s with the brand-new A Night To Remember Motown Show. A stellar cast of critically-acclaimed performers and divinely-gifted musicians authentically recreate the sound responsible for lifting an entire generation to its feet. Energetic choreography and dazzling costumes truly revive the most pulsating era of music the world has ever seen.
Lead vocalist Bizzi Dixon – The Voice UK finalist and West End Tour lead principal – together with the velvet voices of the Motown Divas, harmoniously backed by the outstanding show band, perform all your feel-good favourites from the Motown and soul era, including Reach Out, Jimmy Mack, Baby Love, Dancing in the Streets, I Heard It Through The Grapevine and I’ll Be There to name just a few. .

What is Summer Fest?
Summer Fest is a month-long event at Auckland Castle, happening on weekends between 22nd June – 20th July. Featuring a range of musical performances, family theatre and outdoor cinema, this special evening event takes place on the Bowling Green beside the castle.
What happens in bad weather?
It may become necessary to cancel the event if the weather makes it unsafe. If we do have to do this, the decision will be made as early as possible so that we can let people know before they arrive. If we do have to cancel, we will inform you of the best way to proceed with your purchased ticket.
What should I wear/bring?
This is an outdoor event on a lawn so please dress accordingly and feel free to bring a blanket or chairs.
Is there food and drink available onsite?
You are welcome to bring your own food, and there will also be food and drink outlets at the event as well. Please note, we only accept card payments.
Is parking available?
Parking for this event will be at the North Bond Gate car park at 33 N Bondgate, Bishop Auckland DL14 7PG. There are electric car charging points available.
When should I arrive?
Doors will open 30 minutes before the performance starts and we kindly request that all guests are seated five minutes before the start time.
