All are welcome to attend the regular services in the Chapel free of charge.
A Church of England Communion service is celebrated in St Peter’s Chapel every Wednesday at 11.15am, to which all are welcome, whatever their faith background. This is a special opportunity to worship in a place where bishops have worshipped for centuries.
This service is usually led by the Revd Dr Chris Knights, Chaplain to the Bishop of Durham, who is responsible for the worship in St Peter’s Chapel, which remains the private chapel of the Bishop of Durham.
Those attending the service are welcome to visit the Bishop’s Kitchen café to purchase refreshments afterwards.
Please do not enter the chapel after the service has begun to avoid disturbance.
