FAQs

We've pulled together the questions we get asked the most and put the answers here, to help you plan your day.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome in the Deer Park and Gardens as long as they are on a lead at all times. Dogs are welcome in the Bishop's Kitchen outdoor courtyard which can be accessed via the North Terrace Garden. Dogs are not allowed inside any of The Auckland Project's attractions at any time, unless they are Assistance Dogs.

Are there toilets available?

Toilets are available in all attractions. Accessible toilets are also located in each of our venues.

Is photography allowed?

Photography (without flash) and filming for personal use only is allowed in Auckland Castle and Gardens, Auckland Tower and the Spanish Gallery.

Can I bring a bag with me?

If you bring a bag to the Spanish Gallery, you can leave it in a locker. The lockers are 30cm wide x 44cm high. If you are visiting Auckland Castle or the Mining Art Gallery, rucksacks should be worn on your front, rather than your back. Please don’t bring very large bags with you, as unfortunately we can’t store them for you.

What happens if I lose my annual pass or Prince Bishop Friends membership card?

Please don’t worry if you lose your annual pass or Prince Bishop Friends membership card. Simply visit any of our attractions to request a new card. You will need to provide the name, postcode and email address you originally used to create your account, and our team will then be able to issue a new card.

Who should I contact for media or filming enquiries?

Increased cleaning schedules in toilets and other areas of high use, remain in place for your safety. You don’t need to wear a face covering to enter our venues, but please take care of yourself and others by staying at home if you have any Covid-19 symptoms.
