TOWN'S MINT PRINTS GO ON DISPLAY Wednesday, 1 May 2019
A huge thanks to everyone who took part in our Mint Print workshops at Auckland Tower in March and April.
More than 200 of you worked with local artist Suzie Devey to create your own coins, following in the footsteps of the powerful Prince Bishops of Durham, who had the power to mint their own currency.
It was a great honour to display the finished results at the Tower on Saturday, 13 April to coincide with Bishop Auckland Food Festival, where more than 670 people visited the building and saw the final installation of coins decorated with Bishops, animals and key dates.
There will be more chances to get the creative juices flowing at Auckland Tower later this year. Keep checking our website for more information.
