TASTE OF WORKING LIFE Monday, 7 November 2016

The group of Year 8 pupils from Greenfield Community College’s Newton Aycliffe and Shildon campuses, were tasked with cooking up a special menu from Auckland Castle Trust’s Head Chef, Luke Orwin, using ingredients from the Bishop Auckland branch of Sainsbury’s.

The kitchen-based task, designed to teach participants about cooking and nutrition, was part of a special one day event at Bishop Auckland College, which also included workshops in business and finance, advertising and radio and marketing and social media.

The event was opened by Rebecca Coates, HR and Corporate Services Director for Auckland Castle Trust, who spoke to participants about opportunities for young people and the exciting developments underway in Bishop Auckland.
