SEASONAL EVENTS AT THE AUCKLAND PROJECT Friday, 4 October 2019

Christmas will be extra-special this year, as Auckland Castle will celebrate its first festivities in four years.

The Castle is re-opening in November and to mark the occasion we are offering visitors the chance to join in the seasonal celebration with Christmas food and carols.

Christmas Afternoon Teas will be served in the newly conserved Old Library, formerly known as the Library Tearoom, on Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday, 15 December.

And, on Saturday, 14 December, the annual Christmas Carol Service returns to Auckland Castle’s St Peter’s Chapel, delivered by Reverend Denise Dodds, Chaplain to the Bishop of Durham.

Visitors booked for the Christmas Afternoon Teas can enjoy a selection of tasty canapes, mini sandwiches and delicate sweet treats, accompanied by a pot of speciality tea and a glass of prosecco.

All of the treats will be made by our specialist Catering Team, who work closely with local farmers and suppliers to source seasonal ingredients and utilise some of the North East’s finest produce.

And for the Christmas Carol Service, the historic chapel  will be filled with the voices of The Durham Singers choir, with visitors also invited to join in the traditional carols and hymns.

Both events must be booked in advance, to make a reservation, email, [email protected] or alternatively, call 01388 743 797.
