NEW FACES FOR CASTLE CONTRACTOR Thursday, 17 August 2017
Four new security guards have been taken on by Auckland Castle Trust contractor, Vinovium Associates.
The new employees, John Latcham, Vicky Stoker, John Wilson and Michael Irwin, had been unemployed before taking up their new roles.
With 20 years’ experience of managing large-scale events and venues across the North East, Bishop Auckland-based Vinovium Associates was keen to expand its workforce.
So, working with regional training company Amacus Ltd and Bishop Auckland Job Centre, a group of candidates was selected for security-based training.
The delegates completed a month-long employability programme with Amacus and security and CCTV training specialists, ILM Associates.
After completing their training, all delegates were offered the opportunity of a job interview with Vinovium.
And the four successful candidates will now begin working for Vinovium Associates at Auckland Castle where they will develop their skills and learn from current staff and employees.
John Latcham said: “I’ve always wanted a job in security, so when the offer of training came up, I jumped at the chance.
“Now I’ve been given this opportunity, I’m going to give 100%.”
These latest recruits mean that Vinovium Associates has now taken a total of 14 people out of unemployment and back into work as a result of their contracts with Auckland Castle Trust and sister charity, Eleven Arches.
