LOCAL SCHOOLGIRL PUTS STAMP ON INTERNATIONAL TRAIL Thursday, 28 March 2019

Thank you to everyone who cast their vote in our Trail Stamp poll.

The winner has now been chosen and it's Scarlett Clark, from Cockton Hill Junior School in Bishop Auckland. Scarlett's deer design will now represent Auckland Castle on the Camino Inglès (translated to The English Trail).

The walking route charts Saint Godric's historic journey from Finchale Priory, near Durham, to the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain during the Middle Ages.

Scarlett's design will be stamped onto pilgrims' special trail  passport when they stop at Auckland Castle following the route.

Thank you those who voted as well as to all our entrants. We had more than 100 designs submitted and it was hard to choose the best.
