In Remembrance of Her Majesty The Queen Thursday, 8 September 2022
On behalf of Jonathan and Jane Ruffer, and all staff and volunteers at The Auckland Project, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
Our thoughts and prayers are with The Royal Family and we send them our sincerest condolences at this difficult time.

The life of Her Majesty The Queen is a shining example to us all. The Queen has shown extraordinary commitment and dedication to this country and its people throughout her remarkable 70-year reign.
The popularity of the Platinum Jubilee celebration hosted at Auckland Castle in June reflects the affection and respect for The Queen shared by those who live in Bishop Auckland and the surrounding area.
During this time of national mourning, we recognise that many people will want to pay their respects in memory of Her Majesty The Queen and in solidarity with The Royal Family.
St Peter’s Chapel in Auckland Castle will be open for quiet reflection only. The Chapel will be open daily to the local community, staff and volunteers from 10am-5pm.
St Peter’s Chapel will also be open to visitors during normal opening hours for prayer and quiet reflection.
