AUCKLAND TOWER OPENS ITS DOORS Wednesday, 10 October 2018
Auckland Tower, will launch on Saturday, 20 October with a host of live music, art and tours.
Celebrations will begin at 10am with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a performance by seven-piece band Back Chat Brass, who will fill the Market Place with their trademark blend of classic tunes, pop, funk and hip hop.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to see inside the completed building for the first time, including the ticket hall and first floor archaeology display. and climb up to the 15-metre high viewing platform to enjoy panoramic views of Auckland Castle, the town and surrounding countryside.
Bishop Auckland artist and illustrator, Laura Brenchley, will be leading drop-in sessions as part of The Big Draw Festival 2018 and tours of Auckland Castle, the Market Place and the Deer Park will be running on a drop in basis.
