Discover
The Faith Museum explores the myriad ways in which faith, belief and religion have shaped lives and communities across Britain.
The museum’s story begins 6,000 years ago and considers the ways people have encountered faith throughout history and continue to do so today.
Leading visitors on a journey through British history, the museum hosts an active programme of changing displays and temporary exhibitions in its four dynamic gallery spaces, which are arranged over two floors. The Faith Museum showcases over 250 objects from 50 lenders across England, Scotland and Wales, including rarely seen objects, national treasures, personal mementos and contemporary commissions.
The team worked closely with local faith communities, academic advisors, and museum colleagues to create a respectful, informative and engaging exploration through history and contemporary society.
The Faith Museum opened in October 2023 and has been supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Jerusalem Trust and the Kirby Laing Foundation.
